Ark. delegation supports House immigration bill

Posted: Updated:
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - All four members of the Arkansas U.S. House delegation voted for a Republican-backed bill to address the crisis on the U.S.-Mexico border by sending migrant youths back home without hearings and to shut off a program granting work permits to immigrants who were brought to the U.S. illegally when they were children.

Both bills passed the House late Friday with Republican Reps. Tim Griffin, Tom Cotton, Steve Womack and Rick Crawford voting for both measures.

The Senate has already adjourned for Congress' summer recess so neither bill stands a chance of becoming law.
