Groups that want proposals on ballot face petition deadline

Posted: Updated:
Supporters of proposals to raise Arkansas' minimum wage, legalize medical marijuana and abolish dry counties are making a last push to gather signatures to qualify their proposals for the November ballot.

Monday is the deadline for the groups to submit their petitions. The measures include proposed initiated acts to raise Arkansas' minimum wage and legalize medical marijuana.

There are also proposed constitutional amendments to completely legalize marijuana and to allow statewide alcohol sales.

The proposed constitutional amendments need more than 78 thousand signatures from registered voters to qualify for the ballot.

The proposed initiated acts require more than 62 thousand signatures.
