BENTON (KATV) - Police say a man arrested for robbing a Benton bank Thursday is also responsible for previous bank robberies at the same bank.

Benton police detectives investigating Thursday's armed robbery at Summit Bank on 1114 Highway 35 North obtained information that the suspect was driving a red Ford Mustang with Texas plates.

Arkansas State Police located the car on Interstate 40 and arrested Richard Swicegood, 37, of Waxahachie, Texas.

After further investigation, Benton police have linked Swicegood to robberies that took place at the same bank location in 2009 and 2011.

According to ABC-affiliate KLTV in Tyler, Texas, Swicegood is also believed to be connected to possibly 20 bank robberies including the ones in Benton.  Swicegood is believed to have hit up banks in Louisville, KY, Madison, MS and Tyler, Wichita Falls, Temple, Round Rock, Salado and College Station, TX.  FBI officials confirm he is wanted in several states.

Authorities in Texas nicknamed Swicegood the "Loan Ranger Bandit," after being sighted with a backward Rangers cap on during what authorities believed to be his fourth robbery.

Swicegood is currently charged with 11 counts of Aggravated Robbery, three counts of Theft of Property, and one count of Unauthorized Use of Another Person's Property to Facilitate a Crime.  Police say there is the possibility of additional charges.

No word on if and when he'll be extradited to the other three states to face charges there.
