BENTON - Pulaski County Detention Facility officer David Collins has been placed on administrative leave after his arrest on aggravated assault charges following a domestic dispute at his home early Saturday morning.

Collin’s wife had called police just after 2 a.m. Friday to say she’d been arguing with her husband back and forth through text messages, and that he made threatening comments about coming home and “taking care of things”.

By 6:03 a.m. police were on the scene of the home, responding to a 911 call from Mrs. Collins, who said her husband had a knife. She had locked herself in a bedroom with her 1 year old son.

Officers kicked in the door of the home and arrested Collins without incident. A silver steak knife was recovered at the scene.
