Storms down trees, power lines in Arkansas

Posted: Updated:
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A storm system that downed trees and power lines in central Arkansas has moved into eastern Arkansas.

The National Weather Service in Memphis says heavy rains of up to 4 inches and winds of 60 to 80 miles per hour are possible before the storm moves out of the area early Friday evening.

There are no reports of injury. Warning coordination meteorologist John Robinson with the weather service in Little Rock says there are reports of windows blown out of buildings in Sherwood and roof damage to a building in Little Rock.

Entergy Arkansas reports more than 44,000 power outages statewide - including just more than 18,000 in Pulaski County.

Friday's storms come after storms on Thursday that are blamed for two deaths in northeast Arkansas due to falling trees.
