TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas prison officials say an inmate being held for violating his probation has escaped from the Southwest Arkansas Community Correction Center in Texarkana.
Department of Correction spokeswoman Dina Tyler says 20-year-old Derek Still was part of a group of inmates being escorted to a recreation area Saturday when he ran from the group and escaped.
Tyler says Still was convicted in Van Buren County of possession of drug paraphernalia and that he was being held after his probation was revoked. His home address is listed as being in Bryant.
Inmates at the Southwest Arkansas Community Correction Center are classified as non-violent and are not registered sex offenders.
