Owasso Woman Allegedly Uses Kids to Help Rob J.C. Penney

Posted: Updated:

Owasso Police arrested a woman Saturday afternoon after she allegedly used two children to help her shoplift an Owasso J.C. Penney store.

The police report says the suspect, Jessica Walters, 32, and two juvenile females entered a fitting room with seven tank tops, four shirts, two bracelets and three pairs of shorts. They were observed to leave the fitting room with items they did not originally enter it with.

A loss prevention worker went into the fitting room they left and reportedly found no merchandise, discarded hangers and price tags. Walters then allegedly left the store with her kids, when she approached by the J.C. Penney loss prevention officer, who advised the subjects to come back inside the store.

Merchandise from the store was then allegedly found inside each subject's purse.

Walters was booked into Tulsa County Jail on complaints of larceny from a retailer and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She is being held on $2,000 bond.

The total amount of merchandise stolen was $412.
