Posted: Updated:

Detectives in Sapulpa are investigating after a body was found at a Sapulpa residence overnight Tuesday.

Major Mike Reed with the Sapulpa Police reported that police received a 9-1-1 call around 1 a.m. after a deceased male was found on a resident's couch.

According to police, the homeowner was not home at the time. He had reportedly asked his friends to go check on his dogs at his own home. But when his friends arrived to check on the dogs, a body was found on the couch.

Police are not sure what happened at this point but are treating it as a homicide for now.

The name of the deceased Sapulpa man is David Anthony Sheets. He was 56-years-old. The SPD is now waiting to hear from the medical examiner's office.
