LITTLE ROCK (KATV) – A homeless man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly stabbing a man to death.

Little Rock police officers were called to 1400 North Street, but were flagged down by a white male, Leslie Webb, on La Harpe.

Webb told police he was homeless and maintained a camp near North Street. He said he was awakened by a black male shining a flashlight in his face. The man then hit Webb repeatedly in his face with the flashlight. Webb said he grabbed his pocket knife and began stabbing the man until he stopped his attack. The homeless man left the scene and contacted emergency services.

Officers observed injuries on Webb`s face and blood on his arms and shirt. He was treated by MEMS and gave the knife used to authorities.

The homeless man led officers to his camp where the disturbance took place. According to police there was a blood trail that led to the black male later identified as Willie Taylor. Homicide detectives were notified and the body was released to the Pulaski County Coroner.

It was later determined by detectives the circumstances of the death were different than Webb’s initial statement, and the meeting was prearranged. Authorities suspect Webb knew Taylor.

Webb was charged with first degree murder and transported to PCRJ.
