Tom Cotton campaign out with new ad

Posted: Updated:

(KATV)-The Tom Cotton campaign for Senate is out with a new TV ad. The campaign hasn't run an ad since "Infantry" which ran through Jan. featuring Cotton's mother Avis.

The new ad is aimed directly at the Democrat Senate Majority PAC, which attacked Cotton for his work at McKinsey, claiming that he "got paid handsomely working for insurance companies and corporate interests."

Cotton's campaign pushed back saying that the ad was false, along with Politifact and other fact checking sources. On April 7, a Talk Business/Hendrix College Poll showed Pryor ahead by three points and two other Democrat polls surfaced last week showing Pryor ahead. Cotton's campaign went up on the air with an ad April 9.

The new ad, called "Three Dollar Bill" says "Phony as a three dollar bill, that's what the press calls this ad attacking Tom Cotton." It goes on to cite media sources like the Washington Post saying the ad is totally false.

"The Washington Post said Senator Pryor's attacks on Tom Cotton were 'as phony as a three-dollar bill.' That's why it's important for us to set the record straight so that voters know Senator Pryor can't be trusted to tell the truth," Cotton campaign spokesperson David Ray said.

Pryor's campaign is not affiliated with the Senate Majority PAC ad.
