Teacher on leave after allegedly dragging special needs student by ankles

A Jonesboro school teacher is on administrative leave, after police say she was caught on camera dragging a nine year old special needs student by the ankles.

The teacher, Linda Stephens, was cited yesterday with second degree assault for this incident that happened on March 31st at Microsociety Magnet School.

Surveillance video shows Stephens and the boy were struggling as they came around a corner when the student falls and tries to scoot away from the teacher.  Stephens then grabs his ankles and pulls him into a classroom.

Jonesboro Public Schools Superintendent Doctor Kim Wilbanks issued a statement saying the district is still investigating the incident while Stephens in on leave.
