FAULKNER COUNTY -

A Faulkner County judge is under investigation for allegations including releasing confidential information about a high-profile adoption case.

The judge under the microscope is Circuit Judge Mike Maggio, who is also a candidate for the court of appeals.

Over the last several years, comments have been posted in a Louisiana State University message board called TigerDroppings.com under the pseudonym "geauxjudge".

The messages have now been suggested to be from Maggio.

At this point, it has not been confirmed that Maggio is the user posting as "geauxjudge" but Channel 7 has confirmed the state Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission, which regulates judicial conduct, is aware of the posts and is investigating a complaint against Maggio.

These allegations were brought to light by Matt Campbell with the Blue Hog Report.

Campbell lists posts that, while speculation, could match Maggio such as a post on Millsaps College, where "geauxjudge" states the school "worked out good for me."

Maggio's bio with Faulkner County lists his undergraduate degree with Millsaps in 1983.

The comments posted by "geauxjudge" range from political to sexual, with one example being a response to the topic "Has anyone here dated an Indian chick?" to which "geauxjudge" replied, "Teepee or hotel."

Another said "Sex with animals......been there, done that..."

"Geauxjudge" also talks about why he rarely orders alimony and calls wives "chattel", or possessions.

One post discusses a notable celebrity's confidential adoption, with "geauxjudge" saying it was done in Arkansas by a friend who is also a judge.

Channel 7, by choice, is not disclosing the celebrity because the adoption was closed.

David Sachar, executive director of JDDC, said in a statement:

"The JDDC is aware of the allegations that were reported Monday, including the alleged release of confidential information by  Circuit Judge Mike Maggio. Under Rule 7C(3) I can confirm the pendency of an investigation by this agency. The judge will have full due process rights during our litigation of this matter. Procedural rules of the JDDC will determine the timing of the events in the case including when more public information is available. This office does not anticipate issuing further public statement until the case concludes with dismissal, agreed resolution or public charges."

Late Tuesday afternoon, Maggio released the following statement:

"1. At the current time, I am unaware of any JDDC complaint.
2. If in fact there is a complaint, I am prohibited from commenting."

Channel 7 received the statement from Clint Reed with Impact Management Group, who has been the general consultant on Maggio's race for court of appeals.

In the email, Reed said their firm will no longer be representing Maggio.
