Fatal Pine Bluff house fire

Posted: Updated:

PINE BLUFF – Fire crews responded to the 5600 block of Kennedy Tuesday morning to reports of a house on fire.

Firemen worked to put out the fire, and about 20 minutes later, they reported they'd found the body of an elderly woman inside the home.  No reports of any other injuries.

The woman was reportedly in a wheel chair, and may not have been able to escape the fire.  Her name has not been released.

This is the city's third fatal fire this year.  Sisters were killed in a New Year's Day fire that started in the kitchen of their home.
