City of Little Rock crews respond to winter storm

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - Little Rock Public Works crews are working to clear city streets.

Monday night a crew of 36 employees treated streets in preparation for the Tuesday morning commute. The day shift of 88 employees reported for work at 5 a.m.

Nine spreader trucks are working to clear the eight established snow routes. With major roads now mostly passable, Public Works Operations anticipates being able to move into residential areas to clear roadways by Tuesday afternoon.

Public Works Solid Waste crews should begin picking up garbage on the Monday route by Tuesday afternoon as conditions allow. Trash pickup will be delayed up to one day. Solid Waste asks that residents position trash bins at the curb on their scheduled day. Yard waste pick up will be suspended until garbage collection is back on its regular schedule.

The City of Little Rock asks that drivers be aware and mindful of spreader trucks, road graders, and workers on the streets across the city.
