State Police Responding to More than 100 Accidents

Posted: Updated:

(KATV)- The Arkansas State Police told Channel 7 News that they're responding to more than 100 car accidents Friday night.

The Arkansas Highway Department said they are plowing and will have the salt and sand trucks out throughout the night. The department is debuting a new plow tonight that will help with the snow.

"Tonight we're debuting our belly plow which is new for central Arkansas," said Danny Straessle of the Arkansas Highway Department. "Basically a belly plow has a plow on the front, has a plow under the belly and the larger payload section, so what that allows us to do is it's like making two passes at one time because you actually have one plow right after another."

The plow will be focused on I-40.
