TPD Requests Sober Drivers on Super Bowl Sunday

Posted: Updated:

The Tulsa Police Department, National Football League and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are asking those watching the Super Bowl this Sunday to have a game plan to get home safely after the game.

In 2011, 49 percent of traffic fatalities nationwide were alcohol-related.

In Tulsa, nine people were arrested last year for drinking and driving but there were no fatality collisions, the TPD reported.

TPD urges those watching the game to have a designated driver Sunday night.

"Fans don't let fans drive drunk," TPD's report said.
