Grass Fire Sparks Up in West Tulsa

Posted: Updated:

A grass fire in west Tulsa caused some issues for morning drivers Thursday morning.

Fire crews were notified of the fire before 8:30 a.m. in the area of Highway 75 and I-44. Drivers told 911 that a fire had started on the ground and smoke was blowing into the roadway.

At the scene firefighters quickly tackled the blaze. Strong winds in the area caused the fire to spread.

Traffic was slowed down during the fire due to the smoke. Officials are reminding residents to remain vigilant due to an increase fire threat this week.
