Tulsa Man Sentenced on Child Pornography Charges

Posted: Updated:

A judge has sentenced a Tulsa man for child pornography and sexual abuse charges today.

Aaron Leon Howk, 26, was sentenced to 35 years in prison as the result of a plea agreement. He plead guilty to multiple charges including sexual abuse of a 4 year old family member, manufacturing child porn and distribution of child porn.

On March 28, a search of Howk's home was conducted by members of Oklahoma's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force including the Oklahoma Attorney General's office, the OSBI Computer Crimes Unit and police departments from Edmond, Guthrie and Tulsa.

During the investigation, a tip led agents to an online photo sharing site where Howk was alleged to have shared sexually explicit images of minors. FBI agents also contacted investigators with similar information which ultimately led to his arrest.

Howk must serve at least 85 percent of his 35 year sentence before he becomes eligible for parole.

The Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force includes more than 60 partner agencies, including the Oklahoma Special Bureau of Investigations and the Attorney General's Office. Members are specially trained to investigate the exploitation of children through the use of technology.
