HP to repay $459K in state incentives

Posted: Updated:

CONWAY (KATV) - Hewlett-Packard will repay $459,000 of the $10 million the company received from the Governor's Quick Action Closing Fund to build the call center in Conway.

The fund, which helps seal the deal for new business infrastructure in the state, was offered as part of an incentive package to encourage HP to make a home in Arkansas.

Arkansas Economic Development Commission spokesman Scott Hardin said one of the stipulations of the agreement was that HP would employ 1,000 people at the Conway center by December 2013.
