Teenage murder suspect released on $25,000 bond

MISSISSIPPI (KATV) - A 17-year old is out of jail on bond accused in the death of an 11-year-old girl in Mississippi County.

Christopher Sowell was released from jail on a $25,000 bond. His bond was originally set at $2 million dollars.

Sowell has pleaded not guilty to the murder.

He reportedly admitted to authorities he became angry with Jessica Williams and pushed her off a bridge onto the ground.

According to police, when she got up she said she was going to tell her dad and that's when Sowell said he choked her and pushed her off the bridge again and into water.
