Beebe touts Ross in campaign ad

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK (Arkansas News Bureau) - Mike Ross' first television ad in his 2014 campaign for governor features the fellow Democrat who currently holds the office.

Gov. Mike Beebe hails the former state senator and 4th District congressman in the 30-second spot.

"We need a governor and proven leader middle-class families can count on — that's Mike Ross," Beebe declares in the commercial. "I've had the privilege of knowing Mike for 25 years, and I've watched him work. Mike Ross has the commonsense leadership style that will make our economy work for everyone. His commitment to our children and schools is unwavering. And no one is more independent than Mike."

Since announcing his candidacy in April, Ross has pinned much of his run for governor on the popular two-term Democratic incumbent, saying he would continue Beebe's policies.
