It's twins! Meet Arkansas' first babies of 2014

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - The first baby born in Arkansas in 2014 arrived early Wednesday morning - followed shortly by his sister.

Jacktavias Junior was born at UAMS at 12:25 a.m. and his twin sister Ja'Kyla arrived quickly after at 12:26. Brother may be older by a minute, but he's not bigger.

"She's bigger than him and everybody's telling me she's going to be a bully because she won't let him eat the same amount that she does," said the twins' father, Jacktavias Walker. "I think it's going to be like a little competition."

Jacktavias weighs in around four pounds while little sister is six.

Proud father Jacktavias Senior already has plenty of hopes for both.

"I want them to become more than what I was or what their mom was."

That's a dream he thinks is truly possible because of the supportive family that surrounds them.

"It's incredible knowing your child has a special place not only in your life, but in a lot of other people's lives, too."

The twins' mother is recovering well.
