OGDEN (AP) - Arkansas State Police say a Texarkana man is dead after losing control of his car on an icy patch of U.S. 71 in Little River County.

State police say the crash happened Tuesday afternoon in Ogden. According to a preliminary report, 61-year-old Allen Graves was trying to pass another vehicle on U.S. 71 when he lost control of his car after hitting a patch of ice.

Authorities say Graves' car struck a guard rail. The vehicle Graves was trying to pass collided with the left side of his car.

Graves was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the second vehicle was injured.
