LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Former President Bill Clinton's foundation spent $226 million last year on programs to improve health and opportunity across the globe.

The Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Foundation on Tuesday released 2012 financial documents that illustrate how the foundation is spending the money it raises.

The New York-based foundation changed its name this year to include Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, a move that enables Hillary Clinton to employ the foundation to place greater emphasis on programs for women and girls.

The Clinton Health Access Initiative drew about 60 percent of the foundation's 2012 spending, $136.4 million. The program works with governments to make affordable drugs and diagnostics available for treatment of HIV and other diseases.

The foundation works in the United States to combat childhood obesity and to improve general health.
