DERMOTT, Ark. (AP) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado struck near Dermott in far southeastern Arkansas.

Senior forecaster John Robinson with the weather service in North Little Rock confirmed the Saturday tornado during a visit to the Chicot County town on Sunday. Two people were injured during the storm.

An EF1 tornado includes wind speeds of between 86 and 110 miles per hour.

Robinson said sheds and other structures are damaged and that power lines were downed.

Robinson said the tornado moved into western Mississippi after leaving southeastern Arkansas.
