Former Ark. judge convicted on drug charges

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A former district judge in Pocahontas has been convicted on three federal drug charges.

A federal jury in Little Rock found 63-year-old Bob Castleman guilty of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, conspiracy to maintain a drug premises and conspiracy to possess equipment and ingredients to make meth.

Castleman did not testify and his attorney presented no witnesses before the jury returned its verdict on Wednesday.

Castleman faces at least five years in prison when sentenced at a later date.

Castleman lost his license to practice law nine years ago after he and his son admitted to mailing a live copperhead snake to a man who had fired gunshots at the son.
