Police: Home invasion victim shot by suspects

Posted: Updated:

BENTON (KATV) - Police are searching for two suspects accused of invading a home and shooting an occupant Friday evening.

According to a statement from Bryant Police Department spokesman Lt. Kevin Russell, around 8:40 p.m., officers responded to an apartment complex on the 1900 block of Highway 5 for reports of shots fired.

When police arrived, they found a victim inside an apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives determined that suspects broke into the victim's apartment, physically assaulted him, stole belongings and shot him before leaving.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Police describe the suspects as black males in their 20's, one of which has a beard. They were last seen driving a silver car as they fled the area.

If you have any information on this incident, you are urged to contact the Benton Police Department at (501) 778-1171.
