Little Rock man killed in crash on Interstate 40

FORREST CITY, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a Little Rock man was killed in a multiple-vehicle crash in the construction zone of Interstate 40 in eastern Arkansas.

According to Arkansas State Police, the crash happened Tuesday afternoon on I-40 near Forrest City. State police say seven vehicles were involved in the crash that killed 37-year-old Robert Duranth.

A preliminary report says a tractor trailer driving west came to a complete stop in the construction zone because of a traffic backup. This set off a chain-reaction crash, and Duranth's vehicle crossed the barrier and struck an oncoming vehicle.

Duranth's death is the 456th traffic fatality in Arkansas this year.
