Second gold donation found in Conway red kettle

Posted: Updated:

CONWAY (KATV) - An anonymous donor gave a generous gift Friday at a Salvation Army red kettle.

A one ounce triangular gold bar was found around 2:00 p.m. in the red kettle in front of a J.C. Penny. The bar had "NTR" engraved in it, which matches a Little Rock shop. That one ounce bar is worth $1,238.

A gold coin was found in another Conway kettle earlier this week. Sealed bids are being taken for each through Thursday, December 19. The next day, all the bids will be opened, and the winners will be contacted.

Anyone wanting to make a bid, can do so at the Salvation Army office at 2125 Harkrider Street, Suite 12, in Conway.
