5 Hot Springs men sentenced in drug, firearms case

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - A federal prosecutor says five men have been sentenced to federal prison following a drug trafficking and firearms investigation in the Hot Springs area.

U.S. Attorney Conner Eldridge says an investigation was launched in March 2012 into gang violence and drug-trafficking in the area. More than 80 controlled buys of crack cocaine and methamphetamine were conducted and several firearms were seized.

Eldridge identified those sentenced as 35-year-old Carlos Brewer and 28-year-old Allen Fair, who each received 84 months in prison for distributing crack cocaine; 33-year-old Quinton Kingsby, sentenced to 41 months in prison for distributing crack cocaine; 37-year-old Richard Stapleton, sentenced to 51 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm; and 40-year-old Tommy Woodfork, sentenced to 60 months in prison for distributing crack cocaine.
