UPDATE: Fayetteville half-marathon rescheduled for Dec. 21

Posted: Updated:

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The organizer of a half-marathon that was to have been run in Fayetteville on Saturday says he'll let runners know whether they'll be refunded their entry fees.

Race Director Bruce Dunn of All Sports Productions told Fayetteville television station KHOG (http://is.gd/ofT1og ) he'll present some options on Friday for more than 600 people who had entered the race.

Many entrants complained on the race's Facebook page and in other social media after they were told there would be no refunds. The company initially said entrants could get a 20 percent discount on next year's race.

The company initially said refund money wasn't available because it had spent most of the fee cash to prepare for the race.

The race was called off because of lingering ice from last week's wintery storm.
