Winter storm disrupts regional basketball games

Posted: Updated:

DALLAS (AP) - The arctic blast that's packing ice and freezing rain has disrupted a number of basketball games planned through the weekend in the region.

The SMU-Hofstra men's basketball game scheduled for Saturday at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco has been postponed. The game was rescheduled for Jan. 19.

Also postponed was a basketball game Friday night involving Abilene Christian University and Open Bible College. The game is now planned for Dec. 18 at Moody Coliseum in Abilene.

The University of Southern Mississippi will not travel to Conway, Ark., for a basketball game Saturday against Central Arkansas. A makeup date has not been announced.

Meanwhile, men's and women's basketball games in Tulsa, Okla., between Tulsa and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock were moved from Saturday to Sunday.
