Looking at road conditions in parts of Arkansas

Posted: Updated:

FAULKNER COUNTY/VAN BUREN COUNTY (KATV)-- Parts of northern Arkansas saw freezing rain and a sleet mix. Roads were icy and slippery, with not many drivers on the roads.

Many travelers had stopped in area motels, such as the Super 8 in Clinton.

Lisa Penden, Super 8 Desk Clerk, said she was extremely busy. Penden added that there was just two rooms still available out of the 44 they have in the motel. As of Thursday night, 80 people were staying there.

Penden said, people started calling in reservations earlier this week, in case their power went out. She adds, many drivers traveling through Clinton also stopped because of the road conditions.
