UPDATE: Little Rock, North Little Rock & Pulaski County schools closed Friday

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) – The "Big Three" school districts in Central Arkansas - Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pulaski County - will be closed on Friday.

Typically, the decision is not made until 5:00 a.m. on the day of the closing, but conditions for Friday's winter weather warranted a quicker decision, according to Little Rock School District Spokesperson Pamela Smith.

KATV Meteorologist Barry Brandt said the forecast indicates freezing conditions may exist about the time most schools would be going into session on Friday morning, however roads may take a while to freeze because we've had such warm weather recently.

Smith said the districts are in close contact with the National Weather Service and their own transportation officials to get guidance.
