Grand Lake Vehicle Recovery to Continue Saturday

Posted: Updated:
The recovery of a vehicle and two occupants will continue early Saturday morning after a car drove off a cliff into Grand Lake.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the vehicle was headed northbound on a county road when, for an unknown reason, it departed the roadway and off an 80 foot embankment into Grand Lake, late Thursday evening.

OHP divers were able to recover the body of 24-year-old Michael McKinney of Brookings, Oregon. McKinney was the second passenger in the vehicle.

Divers were not able to recover the driver and another passenger in the vehicle, both have not been identified at this time.

The recovery efforts will continue early Saturday morning when a barge will be able to extricate the vehicle.
