ARKADELPHIA (AP) - Ouachita Baptist's football team says it has accepted an invitation to play Tarleton State of Texas in a bowl game Dec. 7.
OBU and Tarleton each finished the season at 7-3. The Tigers announced Wednesday they will play the Texans in the Heart of Texas Bowl.
Ouachita plays in the Great American Conference and Tarleton plays in the Lone Star Conference. OBU and Tarleton have played three times previously, with OBU holding a 2-1 edge.
The game will be played in Copperas Cove and kick off at 6:30 p.m.
The bowl game is sponsored by C.H.A.M.P.S., a school-based program to teach students about the dangers of improper use of drugs and alcohol. C.H.A.M.P.S. stands for Communities Helping Americans Mature, Progress and Succeed.
