STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi State can still become bowl eligible for a fourth straight season if the Bulldogs win their final two games against Arkansas and Mississippi.
But the Bulldogs' top quarterbacks - Dak Prescott and Tyler Russell - are both dealing with injuries and coach Dan Mullen isn't sure about their availability for Saturday's game against the Razorbacks.
Mullen says Prescott suffered a "stinger" in his non-throwing arm close to the end of the team's loss to Texas A&M on Nov. 9. Russell started for Prescott against Alabama on Saturday, but left in the fourth quarter after an injury to his throwing shoulder.
If neither can play against Arkansas, the assignment likely falls to freshman Damian Williams. The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Williams has completed 11 of 23 passes this season for 152 yards.
