Numerous events are scheduled throughout central Arkansas to celebrate Veterans Day.

The Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs annual ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the River Market east pavilion in Little Rock. Governor Beebe will speak at the event.

The North Little Rock Veterans Memorial Committee will hold its ceremony at the North Little Rock Veterans Memorial in the Laman Library Plaza at 2:00 p.m. Music will be provided by the 106th Army Band Five Star Brass.

M.M. Ebberts American Legion Post No. 1 & Unit One Auxiliary are hosting an open house at 1:00 p.m. The event will include a POW/MIA remembrance ceremony and a memorial balloon release.

Jacksonville High School Choirs and the Jacksonville Museum of Military History will present a concert at 7:00 p.m. at the museum. "Salute through Song" will honor each branch of the armed forces.

A Veterans Day ceremony will take place in Maumelle at 4:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial at Lake Willastein.

Cabot will hold an American Legion Veterans Day ceremony. The ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the American Legion Armory.
