Posted: Updated:

HOPE, Ark. (AP) - A woman in Hope has been charged with the death of her infant son.

Hope police said Friday that they were summoned early Wednesday about a 2-month-old child who wasn't breathing.

The baby was pronounced dead at a hospital in Hope a short time later.

Investigators have not released details on how the child died. But Shreveport, La., television station KSLA reports that 24-year-old Whitney G. Russell is charged with second-degree murder.

Police say the investigation is continuing.
