Willow Springs hosting "Fishing for Kali Tournament"

(KATV) The first week in October, four months after contracting a near-fatal brain-eating amoeba, Kali Hardig, 12, returned to Willow Springs Water Park in Little Rock.

On October 7, the Hardig family announced that the Willow Springs water park owners, David and Lou Ann Ratliff were planning an event to help pay Kali's medical bills.

The Ratliff's are hosting "Fishing For Kali" on Saturday October 26. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and fishing will take place in the pond. It has permanently been closed for swimming since Kali's diagnoses was linked to the water park.

Sept. 24: Kali overcomes her fear of water with donated pool

There will be a fishing tournament and a horseshoe tournament, along with a fall festival. Admission will be $25 at the gate, or $20 in advance. The first place prize in each age group is $200.
