One Woman Found Dead After Fatal House Fire in Bixby

An elderly woman was pronounced dead this weekend following a fatal house fire in Bixby.

Tulsa County officials stated the fire started around 10 a.m. near 171st Street and Memorial Drive. At the scene were Bixby fire crews and the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.

According to an investigator at the scene, crews found the woman's body after the fire was under control. Her body was found in the debris of the fire.

No other injuries were reported at the scene. Her identity has yet to be released.

The state Fire Marshal's Office will determine the cause of the fire, but authorities say the blaze may have started in the living room near a gas heater.
