LRSD begins in-class flu shots

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) - The Little Rock School District took flu shot clinics to the classroom Monday.

Students, teachers and staff at Booker Elementary received some of the district's first flu shots that morning. Superintendent Dr. Dexter Suggs said the district understands the importance of the vaccine.

"How it prevents illness and promotes attendance; attendance promotes good learning....We have been able to avoid large outbreaks of flu thanks to the vaccine clinics," said Dr. Suggs.

Kids get the vaccine for free.
