Government shutdown or not, I'm climbing that tower

Posted: Updated:

Hot Springs Daily  reports a woman from Hawaii scaled a fence at the Hot Springs National Park Mountain Tower, and hid inside the closed tourist attraction before being arrested for trespassing.

The newspaper says Deira Inquye, 29, of Oahu, Hawaii had driven cross country, eventually arriving in Hot Springs, only to find the national park closed, due to the government shutdown.

Hot Springs Daily says park rangers were tipped off to Inquye's  presence when a burglar alarm at the tower went off.  They found her travel companion, her dog, tied up outside the fence at the tower.

Park rangers made sure she didn't have any ill intentions, and released her with a citation.
