Pryor's office to delay visits if govt shuts down

Posted:

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - U.S. Senator Mark Pryor's mobile office will reschedule stops in Arkansas this week in the event of a government shutdown.

The Democratic senator's mobile office is slated to visit Prescott, Magnolia, Lewisville and Texarkana on Wednesday and Ashdown, De Queen, Nashville and Hope on Thursday.

However, Pryor's office says those stops will be rescheduled in the event of a government shutdown.

A conservative challenge to President Barack Obama's health care law has the federal government teetering on the brink of a partial shutdown. If no compromise can be reached by the 11 p.m. CDT Monday deadline, Americans would soon see the impact.

Pryor voted Friday for a measure intended to keep the federal government operating through Nov. 15. Arkansas' other U.S. senator, Republican John Boozman, voted against the measure.
