Downtown Tulsa -

Runners are picking up their packets for the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure.

About 10,000 people are expected to show up in support of the cause.

The foundation expects to raise $1 million for research and to help cancer victims in this area.

Organizers say it's a way to remember those who have been affected by the disease.

Christy Southard is the executive director of the Tulsa affiliate of Susan G. Komen. She says, "This is a day that we come out to raise money for breast cancer, but more importantly, it's to raise awareness, raise education, and show support for survivors and remember those we've lost to breast cancer."

Events start Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at Oneok Field.

You can still register right before the race.
