MANDEVILLE (KTBS) - An oil rig worker in Miller County is back on the ground after being suspended 50 feet in the air because of an accident Monday morning.

The Miller County Office of Emergency Management said the man fell while working on the rig near Mandeville. The man's arms and legs were injured when the platform he was on broke and equipment fell on him.

Several agencies worked together to perform a high angle rescue operation.

"We had to use some webbing and make a body harness to him, then attach him to me, then the guys on the ground had ropes attached to me and they lowered us to the ground together," explained Texarakana Fire Chief Rick Pavick.

At last check, officials had not released the man's name or condition.
