America's Most Trusted Home Improvement Experts Shed Light on Coastal Reconstruction
CONCORD, Mass., Sept. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Last October, the world watched as Superstorm Sandy devastated East Coast shorelines. Almost one year later, the struggle remains for homeowners trying to rebuild. On October 3, 2013, PBS' Emmy® Award-winning home improvement series THIS OLD HOUSE® premieres a special eight-episode series following three sets of homeowners who are pioneers: they began rebuilding–and raising–their homes on the Jersey Shore just a few short months after the storm.

"I was born and raised in New Jersey," says host Kevin O'Connor. "So this hits home for me. The locals can't imagine New Jersey without a vibrant Shore, so it's not a matter of 'if' they will rebuild, but 'how.' We hope to highlight best practices that will resonate in coastal communities everywhere."
THIS OLD HOUSE experts Norm Abram, Richard Trethewey, Roger Cook and host Kevin O'Connor will show viewers house raising, state-of-the-art pile driving, breakaway walls, and gripping side stories that present a realistic portrait of a region struggling to rebuild smarter and stronger.
Featuring eight brand-new episodes, THIS OLD HOUSE: JERSEY SHORE REBUILDS premieres nationally on PBS October 3, 2013 (check www.thisoldhouse.com/tvschedule or your local listings) at the start of the series' 34th national season. Viewers can watch full new THIS OLD HOUSE episodes Sundays at 7 p.m. after each show premieres at www.thisoldhouse.com/watchTOH.
