Conway college receives $6 million gift

Posted: Updated:

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - Central Baptist College in Conway has received the largest gift in the school's history: a $6 million commitment for the construction of a new residence hall.

CBC President Terry Kimbrow announced the gift Thursday from Max and Debbie Story of Magnolia. The gift will pay for a three-story, 150-bed residence hall to be built on the south side of the school's campus.

Kimbrow says the new residence hall will double the capacity of current student housing. He says the school hopes to have the building move-in ready by August 2014.

The school also announced Thursday that a new 17,000-square-foot library will be named in honor of the Story family, who also contributed to the project.

Central Baptist College is a 4-year liberal arts school in Conway with about 800 students.
