Kids "Skate for the Cure" at Arkansas Skatium

Kids of all ages took to the ice Sunday to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.

Members of the Diamond Edge Figure Skating Club at Arkansas Skatium performed in this year's "Skate for the Cure."

This is the 12th year for the event.

All of the money raised will go to the Susan G. Komen foundation.

This year's honorary survivor said events like this remind survivors how much they are surrounded by support, even from children.

"It's wonderful to have these young kids understand that they need to be aware of their own bodies, their moms, their aunts, their grandmothers, their sisters and raise awareness all the way around," said Pam Hathaway, a breast cancer survivor. "It makes you realize how much kids really are growing up to be good adults in this society."

Channel 7's Alyson Courtney was the emcee for the event.
