Atkins students, truck driver injured in accident

Posted: Updated:

According to State Police an Atkins School district bus was involved in an accident Wednesday afternoon sending six students and the driver of another truck to the hospital.  The injuries to the students and driver are said to be non-life threatening.  Troopers believe the school bus was stopped in westbound lane on Highway 64 to let students off the bus.  That is when it is suspected a log truck ran into the back of a pumper truck which caused that pumper truck to hit the back of the school bus.  The driver of the pumper truck and the six students were taken to a Russellville hospital.
